Recycled Plastic Floral Earrings
Super lightweight and girly, these earrings are made with a recycled calendar page and plastic packaging. They are super easy to make and look beautiful (not to mention the cost of making these is just a few cents)! The first step to making these is getting an image transfer. Image transfers are incredibly easy, inexpensive and will give you many possibilities when making jewelry. Here is a tutorial for making easy image transfers.
Materials:
- Clear Plastic Packaging
- An image transfer
- Glossy Accents
- Tear Drop beads
- Faceted beads
- Jumprings
- Head Pins
- Eye Pins
- Earring Wires
Tools:
- Small Hole Punch
- Scissors
- Circle Punch
- Bent Nose Pliers
- Round Nose Pliers
Step 1. Punch out 2 circles from plastic packaging using a circle punch. If you don't have a circle punch, trace a circle onto the plastic and cut out with scissors.
Step 2. Cover the surface of the plastic with Glossy Accents or a clear adhesive and place the circle onto the backside of the transfer. Press down to get air bubbles out. Wipe off any excess and let dry.
Step 3. Once the glue has dried, cut out the circle. Use the small hole punch and punch the top and bottom of the circle so that you can adhere jumprings.
Step 4. Place a faceted bead on a eye pin and make a loop. Place the tear drop bead on a headpin and make another loop. Connect the tear drop to the eye pin and attach to the bottom of the circle with a jumpring. Attach the earring wires to the top of the circle using headpins. Repeat steps for the other earring and enjoy!!
