It happens to all of us. We have every intention of making gorgeous, evenly shaped paper beads, but end up with a wrinkly, lopsided bead instead. What do we do? Use this as a canvas for your embellishing prowess, of course!!!
I've had my bag of ugly paper beads for several years, always telling myself that I was going to do something amazing with them; and finally, the day came!! Isn't it amazing what a little Tacky Glue and some rhinestones, microbeads and glitter can do?? These embellished paper beads are so sparkly and glamorous you may just want to embellish all your paper beads (not just the ugly ones).

Materials
- Ugly Paper Beads
- Rhinestones
- Pearl Cabochons
- Microbeads
- Fine Glitter
- Tacky Glue
- Old Paint Brush
Tutorial Instructions
Step 1. Use an old paint brush to apply tacky glue to the circumference of the paper bead. You want to use enough glue that it will cover the bead, but not so much that it's drippy. Start applying the rhinestones and pearl cabochons.
Step 2. Once you've placed the rhinestones and cabochons, add the microbeads to fill in all the spaces. You want to try to cover as much of the bead as possible. Aside from pouring microbeads over the bead, I found that picking some up with my index finger and gently patting them into the glue helped.
Step 3. After covering the circumference with microbeads, dip the edges in a little glue and then dip them in microbeads so that the edges are also covered.
Step 4. Pour fine glitter over the paper bead to fill in any spots left by the microbeads. The idea is to have the paper bead completely covered .
Step 5. Set the embellished beads aside to dry. Once they've dried you're ready to make some amazing paper bead jewelry!
